in the peaceful town of Brigantine, NJ.

Imagine waking up on the bay... drinking coffee on the balcony. Salty air drifting through the windows. Spending the afternoons learning how to craft your own silver rings by hand, with a view.

Meet like-minded women. Make new friends. Connect, create, and chill.

Hosted by Steph, the owner of Mermaid Metal. I have over 13 years experience in the art of metalsmithing, and love sharing my passion with others. During this retreat, you will learn the basics of working with metal; how to form and solder your own sterling silver rings... in a casual, and relaxing environment.

Retreat Details & Schedule

3-nights at a luxury, 6-bedroom house on the bay in Brigantine, NJ.
Gorgeous bayfront views, with balcony access all over the house to watch the sunrise/sunset.
Two afternoon metalsmithing workshops; all tools and materials will be provided. You will leave with a set of sterling silver stacking rings and a gemstone ring... plus, all of the knowledge needed to continue this craft at home.
Pour your own custom-blended intention candle, and top it with different crystals and herbs.
All meals included.

THURSDAY (9/24)

Welcome Dinner & Margaritas at the house (included)
Candle-Making; pour your own custom 10oz candle! Blend your own scent & decorate your intention candle with crystals, herbs, & glitter from our Candle Bar.
Crystal swap! Bring any crystals you are looking to part with, and exchange for some new ones.

FRIDAY (9/25)

Morning Yoga Class by the bay with Kellie (of Mystic Ginger)
Daily breakfast & coffee at the house (included)
Metalsmithing Day 1; create your own set of sterling silver stacking rings
Dinner at a local restaurant (included)

SATURDAY (9/26)

Daily breakfast & coffee at the house (included)
Metalsmithing Day 2; create a stone ring from start to finish!
Dinner at the house (included)

Learning Experience

This beginner-level metalsmithing jewelry retreat will provide a solid foundation of metal, tools, techniques, and safety. You will learn how to craft a set of sterling silver rings, as well as a ring with a simple bezel setting for a stone.

You will learn the following techniques: sawing, texturing, sanding/filing, soldering, forming, hand forming a ring shank, bezel setting, patina + polishing.

All tools and materials will be provided for you.

You may bring a stone/cabochon of your choice (must have a flat back)

Otherwise, you will be able to choose from a small selection of stones provided.

No prior experience required.

Terms & Conditions

PAYMENT POLICY

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to book your spot.
Payment plans are available; either privately or through Affirm/Afterpay on our website.
- If using Affirm/Afterpay, an additional fee of $99 will be added to your total.
- For private payment plans, the remaining balance (after deposit) is due in 4-5 additional payments, that must be paid monthly. More flexible options are available by request.
All payments must be made in full by no later than September 1st.

CANCELLATION POLICY

It is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policy before booking.
All deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel for any reason, you will not receive your deposit back. Deposits will only be refunded if the trip is cancelled by the host (me).
If you cancel before August 1st, a 50% refund of any payments (less the deposit) will be provided... ONLY if we are able to reassign your spot to another person. If we are not able to find someone to take your spot, no refund will be given.
After September 1st, no refunds will be given... for any reason.
While we wish we could refund for unexpected circumstances, please understand that these policies are in place to cover costs that we have already incurred when booking.
If the host (me), cancels for any reason... all payments will be refunded, including the deposit.
